A member of the VGS team since June 2000, Elizabeth specializes in writing, media relations, account management, and relationship development between clients and potential partners in the community. She is also our speaker services coordinator.
With 17 years experience in public relations, event
planning, and community relations, Elizabeth brings a strong set
of skills to clients of VGS. During her ten-year span in non-profit
public relations, Elizabeth was responsible for developing and
coordinating
award-winning communication pieces and promotional materials, serving
as writer and producer. That expertise coupled with her excellent
coordination and relationship development skills enable her to
communicate
well in person and on paper. With creativity, flexibility and a
can-do attitude, Elizabeth focuses on the client's needs and goals,
bringing fresh ideas and new perspective to every project.
Before joining VGS, Elizabeth managed more than 50
company-sponsored community events and programs in the community
services department at The Dallas Morning News. She was
also responsible for managing The Dallas Morning News speakers
bureau and coordinating special events such as the Dallas Business
Committee for the Arts
employee art show as well as numerous luncheons, receptions and
seminars including "Cuba in Evolution," an innovative two-day
seminar hosted by the news department.
As public relations director for The Salvation Army
Texas State Headquarters, Elizabeth was a jack-of-all-trades.
She
implemented a community and media relations program in a nine-county
area; developed written material for local and national publications;
created and coordinated special events and fundraisers; served
on numerous internal and external committees, councils and coalitions;
managed civic and corporate volunteers; coordinated United Way
campaigns; and served as a spokesperson and photographer.
She has been a member of the Arts District Friends
board of directors, the Dallas Contributions Network, Public Relations
Society of America, and Women in Communications, Inc. Elizabeth
graduated magna cum laude from Texas Christian University in Fort
Worth. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising/public
relations as well as a minor in speech communications.
